It's not about what you have to do for us, but rather what opportunities we can offer you. As a member, you aren't REQUIRED to attend any meetings, events, or programs. It is up to you what you want to be a part of, what positions and programs to apply to, and how many events you want to attend. We will say, a good amount of our involved members are part of these director positions and programs as they allow you to get the most out of the org!

There are no required events or points threshold as a member! You are welcome to come to as many events as you want. However, Director positions and programs do require certain time dedication and requirements. This depends on the director position and program, but the time commitment is very manageable with classes, other orgs, and even additional SHPE positions.

We host our General Body Meetings every other week on Wednesday's at 6:30 PM! At GBMs we inform our members of new/upcoming events, opportunities, and updates. Beyond GBMs, there is always at least one SHPE event every week! We often host multiple events a week including socials, workshops, or different activities. There is always something SHPE related happening :)

No application is necessary to be a member and attend events! To be an official SHPE UF Member, all you have to do is register with shpeuf.com. We do highly encourage all members to register with SHPE National due to it's benefits, but it is not required. On the other hand, our director positions, programs, and scholarships do require application submissions. Find more information in the "How to Get Involved" Section!

SHPE National and SHPE UF Membership are two separate registrations. Here are the differences below... Yes! You can still be a part of SHPE UF as a Santa Fe Student! You are more than welcome to come to our events, apply for director positions, and apply to our mentorship program. We actually have a student program with Santa Fe students called "PartnerSHPE" which connects students at both institutions and aids with the transfer application process and connecting to UF.
